This March I’m kicking off National Nutrition Month with this delicious green detox juice. This Green Detox Juice is loaded with nutrient-rich vegetables (and fruit!) that contain anti-cancer and detoxifying properties that can help our bodies feel better and work better.

Detoxifying nutrients:

The liver is an extremely important organ when it comes to detoxifying or helping to clean out toxins that are found both in our food and in the environment; however, in order to work properly it needs to be given many key nutrients (amino acids and important nutrient compounds).

This juice contains cruciferous vegetables- kale and broccoli that contain sulphoraphane, which helps to promote production of phase 2 liver detoxifying enzymes.

Anti-cancer:

This juice is also loaded with anti-cancer nutrients beta-carotene found in the carrots, isothiocyanates and sulphoraphanes in kale and broccoli, quercitin found in pear, and gingerols found in the ginger.

All of the aforementioned nutrient compounds contained in the juice act as powerful antioxidants that help prevent and repair naturally occurring damage that happens within our bodies; these same nutrients also help to prevent and repair inflammation that long term can contribute to disease.

Happy National Nutrition Month, happy juicing!
